Breve's Cafe & Bar

Came here because of the wide range of drinks & food, thought we might’ve found a hidden gem. Scanned the code at the table and decided on waffles. The nutella waffles description said it came with cream, strawberries or bananas, and ice cream for $18.90 which seems a bit steep but we don’t mind. Underneath there are options which I assumed was to add extras of things for extra charge (strawberries for an extra $2, etc), and underneath there were options to remove anything. I wanted extra sauce so I paid an extra $2, making the waffle $20.90. My friends waffle came out 10 minutes before mine, and there were pigeons everywhere. When mine finally came it was a plain waffle with nutella drizzed over and two scoops of ice cream. It wasn’t bad (not nearly as crunchy as I’d like it but it was okay) but $20.90 for that is crazy. We also ordered a banana smoothie which was basically just watered down milk with a hint of banana, and a tropical frappe that was beyond bland and so watered down that it literally began separating.. won’t be coming back here unfortunately.

We had chicken fried rice today. It was sooo good. Previously food was not that much tasty and staff was rude but this time good service. Chicken was crispy and so tasty. Thank you chef

Great for a wide range of snacks and fusion foods with open air seating and friendly staff, well priced with tasty food, watch for the specials board.

I had a fresh mixed juice and was so happy with it that I thought the food must be good here too. So I went back for a Nasi Goreng later and it was delicious. Thanks. I’ll be back.

Got to love a cafe that closes late! Opening hours are a huge plus as most places close early, the service was very friendly and quick and i quite enjoyed my hot chocolate ($4.90)

Not sure what the negative reviews are banging on about, as I had a great experience today. I have always dismissed it as touristy, but it's always busy and the food looked quite good. So I gave it a go when my group wanted to eat at another touristy cafe around the corner (the only ones we could see open on a Sunday morning in the city centre). I got a takeaway bacon and egg hollandaise bagel for under $8, which was a touch slow but to be fair there were a lot of people ordering takeaway so it was busier than it looked. The guy wasn't overly friendly (he was a bit stressed) but he was polite and efficient, the food perfectly cooked and tasty. The spinach was very fresh too. The woman who brought the takeaway out was very friendly and no one batted an eyelid when we gently skated inside to order (thank you!). Will definitely return as I now feel bad for having judged it. A great range of options at very reasonable prices and decent portions - won't be going to the rip off cafe up the road again!

Terrible, worst experience ever, ordered 2 thick shakes, came out as warm milkshakes, stay away, staff just wanted to argue, after reading some reviews it seems they just want to argue, could not say enough bad things about this place

Ordered salmon bagel and curried egg sandwich. Tasted stale and hard. Cheap but not cheerful. We got our money back as the food was inedible and didn’t trust them with the coffee. Stay away.

We are visiting Perth from Qld. One night we have a chicken snitzel and next hubby had fish and chips and like the night before it was accompanied by a delicious and generous salad. Two pieces of chicken each.. way too much. I wanted something light so had a strawberry pancake. How this cafe gets a 3* rating amazes us. I researched eating places before arriving. After 12 days touring to Esperance and back we will return. Thank you.

Service is too slow. On a hot day, when you are thirsty, you have to wait a lot just to get a drink. If you have patience, then go.
