Not sure about this place. Took my car there after a breakdown with an NRMA diagnosis of a problem with the alternator. Told auto lab there may be a problem with the alternator. Not sure if the mechanic at auto lab checked the alternator, but he told me I needed a new battery, sold me a new battery, and now I have broken down again for the 2nd time a week later. 2nd NRMA guy tells me it is definitely the alternator after running a diagnostic test. NRMA said the new battery I was sold has lost half its life. And I am now buying a new alternator. Think I'll also find a new mechanic in the future. Disappointing seeing as I have been going to autolab for years now. I wouldn't have a clue about what has been wrong with my car so always trusted them, but now I'm not sure I should have. Not happy being stranded in 40 degree heat for the second time in a week.

10 OUT OF 10, these guys fitted a Brand New part that all the others northern beaches (others only would fit they supplied the there OEM). If you want fair dinkum workshop and honest price, go here, it only a short work to manly beach 150ms or 600m to main street. You make ur own choice, i made my choice 😀😀😁😁😎😎

i've been ripped of mechanics a lot in the past and i didn't felt comfortable seeing a mechanic in Australia ...so i've been there as a tourist,and tourists are easy to rip off..i had 2 faulty washer pumps and no tools so i was forced to see a mechanic. Luckily we found Autolab,and gave it a go...they replaced the pumps and even gave me a second hand one so it would be cheaper for me..and the labour isn't pricey as well. so 5 stars out of 5,even if you are from overseas,and dependend on mechanic opinions. Thank you so much,would come again anytime..

Sold my van to some people after they had it inspected here first. Guy found some problems as was expected, but also tried to sell the couple his own vehicle while they were discussing mine. Absolute backstabber for doing that, when they'd paid good money for the inspection. If you're going to try and sabotage someone else's sale, at least don't take the money first.
