Great location. The hotel foyer and restaurant areas are so enriched with history and absolutely beautiful. We had a room with a view of hotel foyer which was spectacular. The room had a tap handle fall off and the bath-rail broke. The bath was so deep and relaxing. Beds were comfortable. Service was not great as staff did not provide info voluntarily, we had to ask a lot of questions. Overall, we enjoyed being in such a central area however we have stayed at the Fullerton in Sydney and this was not on the same level
From the moment we walked in the staff greeted us with warm smiles and an eagerness to assist that made me feel special. But the true crown jewel of our stay was the unparalleled comfort of the sleeping accommodations.
Each pillow was a cloud-like haven, cradling my head in a gentle embrace that whisked me away to a peaceful slumber. The perfect balance between softness and support, these pillows seemed to be crafted with a deep understanding of what it means to end a day with restorative rest. The staff would not not give away the secret of where to acquire them.
This hotel has mastered the art of comfort and hospitality. The pillows and beds are a sanctuary of comfort, and the staff’s dedication to service is evident in every interaction. I left feeling refreshed, pampered, and eager to return.
Experience with Fullerton Hotel Sydney is unpleasant. Few problems occurred during the stay.
1. Cleanliness: found dirty socks from the previous guest still remained inside the room. Made you wonder whether the room is properly clean as five star luxury hotel standard
2. Water pressure and temperature control issues for shower: so low and not able to control between cold and hot water. Requested the front desk to fix it in the morning. Came back to hotel in the afternoon. And the response from front desk was so disappointed. Engineer has fixed it but hotel cannot guarantee it. Is it the appropriate response from staff who work in hospitality?
3. Sink was blocked
I supposed to rest in the comfort room after enjoying the travel in this beautiful city. However, after entering the room became stress due to number of problems occurred and need to write unpleasant experience during my stay.
This hotel claimed themselves 5 star luxury. On what basis?
We had a wonderful stay at the Fullerton Hotel. We loved it. Close proximity to train And light rail, And having Martin Place. Right in front, put us right in the centre of the city. We love the room, The atmosphere, the Heritage aspectof the motel (my wife loved the complimentary heritage tour) We enjoyed wonderful breakfast. Every day The particularly Impressed with Raul's, Excellent service, greeting us at breakfast every day, helping us with our needs.
His service was fantastic. He went above and beyond to assist us, We will definitely come back to Sydney, and definitely make the Fullerton, our home in the future.
Service in The Bar area - I'm a regular customer. Over the last few months the service has significantly deteriorated. Went there one week ago looking forward to a nice, relaxing lunch. Took me 20 minutes to get attention to place order - 1 doz oysters ($75) to start, Kingfish cerviche + glass of Verve Cliquot ($35). Waited for 25 minutes before asking waitress why oysters had not arrived, cancelled order, paid for champagne and departed - never to go back again. Office pals have had same experience recently.
Subject: Complaint Regarding Bribery and Threats by Fullerton Hotel Butler
Dear Manager
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding an incident that occurred on [date] at Fullerton Hotel. I am a cab driver working in the area, and I was picking up a guest from your hotel when I was approached by one of your butlers.
The butler demanded a bribe from me, stating that I needed to pay him in order to pick up guests from the hotel in the future. When I refused, he threatened to file a complaint against me with the P2P service, which could seriously affect my ability to work and support my family.
This behavior is both unethical and illegal. As a professional driver, I rely on fair and honest dealings with everyone I encounter, including hotel staff. The actions of this butler not only put me in a difficult position but also tarnish the reputation of your hotel.
I respectfully request that you investigate this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that no other driver or guest is subjected to such treatment. I trust that you will handle this situation with the seriousness it deserves.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.
Sincerely,
Enjoyed our stay at the Fullerton for 6 nights. The staff are amazing, with great facilities and lots of variety for breakfast. The business centre and gym were the highlights for us. The restaurant staff are amazing too - always welcome guests warmly and it makes a difference for the start of your day. We didn't get a chance to take advantage of the lunch and dinner at the hotel as we had other plans throughout the stay but will give it a try next time.
LOVELY FRONT DESK STAFF , AS WELL AS IN THE RESTAURANT ON THE FIRST FLOOR AND AT THE DOOR. The breakfasts are great. Excellent central location. Make sure your have a suitable parking arrangement.
We stayed here over the weekend for my birthday.
The location is perfect.
Our room was clean but the tap didn’t work for cold water and during the night the lights came on about 7 times so we woke up all through the night. When we informed staff they just said sorry.
Service at breakfast was terrible.
Not enough seating for the hotel size so you have to wait. Not enough staff to turn the tables over.
Had to hunt someone down to order a coffee and then was given the wrong milk and had to wait a further 20minutes for it to be replaced.
For the price I wouldn’t stay here again.
I recently stayed at The Fullerton Sydney for an eight-night leisure trip, and unfortunately, my experience fell significantly short of the five-star standards one would expect from such a renowned hotel.
Room Issues:
The most glaring issue was the terrible water pressure in the shower. After a long day, there’s nothing more rejuvenating than a good shower, but the water pressure was consistently low, making it almost impossible to enjoy. Despite multiple requests to the front desk and assurances that the issue would be addressed, it remained unresolved throughout my stay. This lack of follow-through was incredibly disappointing and affected my overall comfort.
In addition to the water pressure, the shower temperature fluctuated wildly between boiling hot and warm, which posed a serious safety concern. This inconsistency made showering not only uncomfortable but also potentially dangerous. Alarmingly, all three rooms I booked for my stay had the same issue, indicating a broader problem within the hotel.
The TV in my room was also inoperable from day one. I reported the issue immediately, hoping for a quick fix, but to my dismay, it was never repaired. For a hotel of this caliber, basic amenities like a functioning TV should be a given, not a luxury. This failure significantly impacted my downtime and overall experience.
Service:
While the staff were generally polite and well-meaning, their inability to resolve these issues was frustrating. The repeated assurances without action made me feel unheard and neglected as a guest. Effective communication and prompt solutions are essential in hospitality, and The Fullerton Sydney unfortunately missed the mark on both counts.
Amenities:
Apart from these issues, the hotel does offer some redeeming qualities. The common areas are well-maintained and the location is excellent for both business and leisure travelers. The dining options were varied and the quality of food was commendable. However, these positives were overshadowed by the significant problems in my room
Excellent stay for two nights. Started off in one room and changed to another as our air conditioning wasn’t working. The room we moved to was a little stale but once we sprayed some freshener around it was fine. The beds were the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and the pillows adorable.
The location is fantastic and suited us for our proximity to appointments.
There is the sound of the underground trains but it sounded more like waves crashing and didn’t worry us too much.
We loved the large heritage rooms which have the highest ceilings you’ve ever seen and so much space to move around.
Food was excellent and generous servings. Service very quick and responsive.
We would definitely book again and if the manager was on top of things like air con working we would give the hotel a definite 5 star all round. Great stay!
I stayed at the Fullerton Hotel from the 27th to the 28th of [Sept], but extended my stay until the 29th because the service was simply exceptional! A special thanks to Aichai (apologies if I got the name wrong, but she knows who she is), who made my first night unforgettable by giving me a complimentary room upgrade. Her warm and attentive service set the tone for my entire stay.
I also want to express my gratitude to the operations manager, who surprised me with a cake and a personalized welcome note, making my stay even more intimate and special. It’s these small gestures that really make a difference.
Initially, I was planning to check out on the 28th, but I extended my stay as I was leaving for Sydney the following day. When I requested to keep the same room for convenience, the manager at the desk effortlessly made the arrangements without hesitation, ensuring I didn’t have to move my things. This level of flexibility and attention to detail is truly commendable.
The breakfast buffet was beyond impressive, offering a wide variety of high-quality options, and the staff’s professionalism and friendliness were top-notch. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
I will definitely be booking with Fullerton Hotel for my monthly trips to Sydney, and I look forward to seeing the amazing team again. Thank you all for making my stay so memorable!
My recent stay at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney was an exceptional experience that combined luxury with top-notch service. The staff were helpful, always ready to assist me and made me feel as a valued guest. The hotel is located in the heart of Sydney's Central Business District, offers convenient access to major attractions, shopping, and dining options. Train and tram stations is within walking distance making it easy to explore Sydney.
My husband and I stayed at the Fullerton Hotel for a night in May 2024 and it is safe to say it is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in in Sydney. I absolutely loved its amazing historic interior, beautiful architecture and great views. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated and well maintained and our bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was immaculate. It almost felt we were staying at a palace rather than a hotel oh and not to mention the friendly staff and nice bar. I was also amazed by how quiet it was despite the hotel located in a busy area. Our stay was perfect and I wish we had stayed an extra night. We felt so comfortable and happy in our room and it was definitely a highlight of the trip. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and you won’t regret it. It’s perfect for a small family or a couple looking at having a romantic weekend together in the heart of the city of Sydney. We will 100% return.
This will be our 4th stay at the Fullerton Sydney every time hoping that our previous comments would have made a little difference/change but nevertheless there is always something not quite right.
This time we were given a room (1515) which is unfortunately way off the 5 star rating.
Other customers reviews have had similar complaints on the shower pressure, not able to manage the hot and cold and almost caulding oneself, (a health and safety issue) poor basin facilities. Obviously management has not inspected the conditions and state of rooms regularly. It doesn’t reflect well on Sydney been a one of Australia’s best cities to visit for an international tourist.
We hope that our comments can only improve the state of this hotel’s rooms. A positive comment we have is of the staff where remembering the faces of hotel guests from previous stay is commendable.
I so love staying here. It's beautiful to look at ensconced within the old Post Office. The Atrium adds to the ambience with the majestic clock tower overseeing all. The service is excellent. We had access to the Club Lounge and the staff were so warm. We felt welcomed, looked after and spoilt. Our suite was wonderful. We always love the bathtub and always indulge. We always go to breakfast which is an experience in itself ... delicious and comprehensive. We even invited friends to breakfast this time.
I actually want to live here ☺️
Every time we stay at the Fullerton we have a wonderful experience. We had a wonderful suite with a fantastic view and as usual great service. Received a lovely welcoming gift of chocolates. Thank you.
Looking forward to our next stay.
We did the free tour. It was really professional and interesting. How could I have lived in Sydney my whole life and not noticed this beautiful building.
The place is amazing.
I'm going to stay there for my next anniversary.
I just returned for my wedding anniversary.
The staff were lovely. Even delivering a cake for us.
The rooms are spacious and very comfortable.
It has been a pleasant stay for us. Location is convenient and the room is spacious and nice. The service could have been better. There’s no single incident to pinpoint to, just an overall feel that people could be more friendly, service could be more proactive.
Our stay here couldn’t have been any better! It’s located in the heart of Sydney. Easily accessible by various modes of public transport, and within walking distance of many sights, shops and eateries.
Furthermore, it’s housed in the historic former General Post Office building. Hence, we opted for the Heritage wing. Room was spacious and filled with modern amenities. You will not lack for comfort. The water pressure is amazing!
The food was amazing, with a wide variety of mouthwatering options. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. The presentation was top-notch, adding to the overall dining experience. Delivery was prompt and the packaging ensured that everything arrived fresh and in perfect condition. It's safe to say that this delivery service from The Fullerton Hotel Sydney exceeded all expectations and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal at home.
